Steven Engravalle has proudly served as an instructional aide, teacher, vice principal, adjunct college professor, principal, superintendent of schools, and State Chair of Technology in New Jersey public schools. He is a passionate champion for all children, regardless of socioeconomics, race, or geography, and is committed to ensuring that schools meet the needs of all learners and serve students in a safe, clean, twenty-first-century educational environment.
He began his career in education in Norwood, New Jersey as an instructional aide, and after completing a bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey, Steven became a teacher, athletics coach, and building-based technology coordinator for the Bergenfield Public Schools. He then served as the Vice Principal, Director of Athletics, and Child Study Team Supervisor for the Franklin Borough School District in Sussex County and was appointed Principal of the Hamburg Public School District in 2006. In 2007, Steven became the youngest Superintendent of Schools in New Jersey history when he was appointed at age 28. In 2010, Steven was named Assistant Superintendent of the Fort Lee Public Schools, and he was appointed Superintendent of Schools in Fall 2011.
Engravalle is currently Founder and Chief Education Officer of Valemont Learning Consultants (VLC). VLC is a consulting firm that offers services to address current challenges in education for public, private, and charter LEAs and higher education institutions and transforms them into successes. Additionally, VLC is the leading consulting partner to the K-12, Higher Education, and Educational Technology private equity industry and its key stakeholders. VLC advises investors across the entire investment life cycle for the K-12 and Higher Education space.
